Instructions for installation

Click the link above to begin downloading Pop-up Barrier.  When prompted, choose to Open (or Run) the file and then follow the instructions below.

1.)  Wait for the download to finish.  When complete, the WinZip Self-Extractor window will appear.  Change the "Unzip to folder" to C:\TEMP and then click "Unzip."

2.)  After the files have unzipped successfully, close the "WinZip Self-Extractor" window by clicking "Close." 

3.)  On your taskbar, click Start, Run, type C:\TEMP\Setup.exe and click "OK" to begin the installation.

4.)  [Windows XP users only] Go to http://www.popupbarrier.com/firewall/ for instructions on enabling the Internet Connection Firewall.  This is a crucial step in blocking certain incoming messenger ads.

5.)  Please visit http://www.popupbarrier.com/web/ to download the companion program which will further protect you by blocking graphical web pop-ups, ad-ware, spy-ware, and more!


Important Note:  We recommend placing Pop-up Barrier in your Startup folder so that you are always protected.
